2000Founded by Vickie Madison
2002From EGC's first graduating class of 19 members in 2002, 13 members attended college, eight received under-graduate degrees; four of the eight are pursuing graduate degrees.
2003Awarded an evaluation grant for $15,000 from the Virginia Governor's Office of Substance Abuse Prevention
2004Outstanding Youth Program in the Greater Peninsula Area (VA), 25th Annual Youth Service Systems Forum
2005

Received 501(c)(3) Nonprofit tax status

Selected as the signature project of the Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Inc.

Began first South Hampton Roads (VA) Site, River Crest Community Center

Organizational Asset Builder Award, Newport News Commission on Youth

2006Became a United Way Write-in Organization
2008

Selected as a Combined Federal Campaign Organization
